Cape Verde to become more accessible - 22 May 2007
People looking to invest in property in Cape Verde will be able to access the archipelago more easily from this summer after the introduction of a new service from Astraeus Airlines.
The second direct route to Cape Verde will go directly from London Gatwick to Boa Vista once per week. Astraeus Airlines began flying to the island group's main location of Sal last year.
Cape Verde property has been identified by some market commentators as a sector with great potential that will blossom as soon as infrastructure and access are improved.
"We've seen passenger numbers grow since the introduction of flights to Cape Verde which necessitates the continuation of two flights to Sal and the introduction of a new service to Boa Vista,” said Hugh Parry, Astraeus managing director. "The launch of the new route to Boa Vista probably reflects the pent up demand for a new destination such as Cape Verde."
The archipelago comprises ten islands and eight islets and is situated 400 miles from the west coast of Africa.
