Eastern Europe gets closer - 9 May 2007
Wizz Air, a budget airline that operates in various eastern European countries, has announced an expansion of its services between the UK and Bucharest...
Holidaymakers and property investors from Liverpool will be able to fly to Bucharest from John Lennon Airport from October 1st 2007 using Wizz Air, with services scheduled for three times a week.
Meanwhile, the airline has revealed plans to increase the frequency of its existing flights between Bucharest and London Luton, with services increasing from three times a week to six times a week by July 14th 2007.
The company also offers flights between Transylvania-Tirgu Mures and Budapest, Rome and Barcelona, while new services between Bucharest and Parma and Valencia have also been proposed.
Wizz Air has set a target of ferrying 1 million passengers to and from Romania in 2008.
Natasa Kazmer, director of corporate communications and public affairs at Wizz Air, commented:
"The low cost air travel market in Romania is in the early stages of development, so there is a lot of room for expansion".
